MCO is proud, above all, of our commitment to spending close to 100% of donations on the kids. Other than one paid Ethiopian employee, our directors and staff are all unpaid, and we contract with tutoring companies to provide the computer, English, math, and other tutoring. We also empower some of our older students to tutor our younger students. One time donations add up and really help improve our programs.
Sponsorship has allowed many of our kids to thrive in education thanks to the support of an individual sponsor. Sponsors provide monthly donations that go to supporting the student being sponsored. Students and sponsors usually get updates and information about each other, through MCO, and sometimes exchange letters and emails and get to know each other as the student progresses.
